With reference to your letter No.27291/20 of the 19th
instant respecting the repatriation of Distressed British
Subjects from Saigon, I am directed by Earl Curzon of
Kedleston to state that he concurs with Viscount Milner's
suggestion contained therein as to the best method of
dealing with these cases, with the proviso that where, aa
in the present instance, a destitute person from the
Dominions or Colonies is concerned, the expenses should be
reclaimed by the Hong Kong or Straits Settlements
Government from the Colonial Office.
I am to enquire whether this proposal meets with the
approval of Lord Milner.
I am,
sir,
Your most obedient
humble Servant,
7.4.4. Butler.
